Ecopitchoun has been engaged in a zero-waste approach since its creation in 2006.
The activity is centered on Elimination Communication babies and accompaniment of bambins who begin to go on potty self-reliance.The proposed articles promotes more minimalism, such as mini-layers in washable textiles, washable wipes, etc.
Because the best waste is the one we don’t produce, Ecopitchoun manufactures each piece to order in its workshop. Ecopitchoun has the heart to preserve french artisanal production. And only produces what is purchased, when you buy it, no more.So there is no big stock ahead, just a little on very few items. Thus, there is no surplus collection that would be robbed or thrown and therefore no waste.
Fabric falls are used to make washable cloths.
The workshop is powered by solar panels since its beginnings as well.
The packagings are mostly made from cardboard recycling: organic cardboards are regularly recovered to ship orders.
Refunds come from packages that we received from our suppliers and that we recycle directly during our own shipments to protect items that require it.
The range Ecopitchoun has no packaging.
We avoid printing anything. We still have a printer for the few annual prints, with cartridges we fill ourselves and recycled paper. The paper is used recto-verso and if not shipped it ends recycled to start the wood stove (recovery wood also).
For the clothes we manufacture, we mainly use organic cotton, bamboo (which requires less water than cotton and is more absorbent), directly recycled wool from associations that promote reintegration, recycled cotton directly, organic wool without museling. We supply ourselves to France.
All articles Ecopitchoun are made in artisanal France.
We import some articles from other German brands mainly, from the UK, and some come from China because we do not find these articles in France (some potties HNI for example).
We have since the proposed beginning mini-layers that adapt to babies from birth to continence, to avoid waste and multiple purchases. We are moving towards the creation of scalable clothing: the scalable pants and Longlegs rims is the first step.
Ecopitchoun fate in january 2023 potty anatomically made of vegetable and compostable plastic, entirely made in France by a local factory.
Ecopitchoun, already labeled Artisan d'Art, is in the process of making the steps to obtain the label Company Zero Waste set up by the region Occitanie and the CMA (House of Trades and Crafts).
